This is how to execute a twisting kick that is used to connect with an opponent on the opposite side of the body that they expect. the kick can use ball of foot (ap kum chi) or the instep (baldung) the kick is executed by dropping the kicking-side hip down to allow bodyweight to be thrown to the opposite side of the body to connect with your opponent. It is a surprise kick because your opponent will expect a kick from your open side when using your rear leg to kick.
It can be used at any height level, but mid-section is most effective, aiming for the ribs and undercarriage section of your opponents abdomen.
