Moving SideKick for Tae KwonDo and side kick drills / karate side kick

Here is a rundown of how I would drill moving sidekick.

I would begin by practising the kick from a standing position and forget about the shift altogether. Once you can generate power by getting the proper technique from a horizontal leg position, you can then add a small hop and begin to allow the rear foot to shift forwards

Remember that the kick must travel sideways as this is a sidekick and must travel in the sideways direction to generate power, if you are lifting the foot up from the ground in the diagonal direction it will not generate much power as I will explain later in my sidekick video tutorial
